CyBEEsat – Ready for Launch

Product detail

🚀 The launch window for Isar Aerospace’s Mission ‚Onward and Upward‘, with #CyBEEsat on-board, opens NET today.

A few weeks ago, we stood in #Andøya, Norway, looking at the launch site of Isar Aerospace and their in-house developed orbital launch vehicle that will soon lift off with our satellite onboard.

Seeing our satellite during check-out in the integration facility, after years of development, late nights, and countless iterations, puts things into perspective.

CyBEEsat is a small satellite, but it carries a lot of ideas:

  • #ROSI Experiment with Perovskite solar cells from Universität Potsdam, testing new energy technologies in space
  • #RACCOONOS and our CyBER OBC, exploring secure onboard computing
  • A new, compact RF Transceiver for the Short Duration Mission (SDM) Band
  • A fluid based attitude experiment and 3D printed components

This mission is the result of a truly collaborative effort across universities, research groups, startups and partners led by the Chair of Space Technology - TU Berlin.

Many contributions went into this satellite: From hardware provided by partners, to student theses, to a large amount of work done alongside regular jobs. This kind of team effort is what makes such missions possible.

A big thank you to Isar Aerospace, Exolaunch, and all project partners at Technische Universität Berlin, Universität Potsdam, and the Berlin Nanospacecraft Alliance for making this mission possible.

Now everything is prepared.

CyBEEsat is checked out and ready.
TU Berlin’s ground stations are ready.
The team is ready.

We look forward to the first science data of our experiments in orbit.

That moment never gets old.

Special thanks go to the Deutsche Raumfahrtagentur im DLR and in particular Andres Bolte, for organizing the first payload competition in the scope of the German Hashtag#microlauncher initiative. Numerous innovative projects and future products have already emerged from this program, demonstrating how impactful such initiatives are. Formats like this are essential for technology transfer, talent development, and building sustainable space capabilities in Hashtag#Germany and Hashtag#Europe.

Exciting days ahead 🚀

The launch window for Isar Aerospace’s “Onward and Upward” mission with Hashtag#CyBEEsat onboard opens NET today.

CyBEEsat may be a small satellite, but it carries important steps towards more resilient and secure space systems. At Quantum Galactics, we are proud to be a partner of this mission and especially excited to see the in-orbit demonstration of the RACCOON OS and the CyBER OBC for secure onboard computing.

This mission is a great example of what can be achieved through strong collaboration across universities (Technische Universität Berlin and Universität Potsdam), startups and industry partners (Berlin Nanospacecraft Alliance, Exolaunch, Isar Aerospace) in Europe. Thank you to the Deutsche Raumfahrtagentur im DLR for initiating the Hashtag#microlauncher initiative.

We’re looking forward to the launch. 🚀
